Precision Fabrication of a Stainless Steel Compression Spring

Share

Industrial Spring Corporation was commissioned by a pressure switch industry customer to custom manufacture a compression spring. The objective of this project was to produce a stainless steel spring where the side thrust was kept to an absolute minimum. To accomplish this goal, we used our state of the art metal forming equipment to coil, grind, set removal, and heat treat the metal to a length of 1.562”, and O.D. of .600”, and an I.D. of .418”, while maintaining tolerances of ±1/64” (specified) and ±.005” (held).

Upon completion we employed various testing methods to ensure the quality and durability of the compression spring. The dimensional layout, load, and side thrust were all tested and confirmed to meet specifications.

We manufactured 25,000 units within 15 days that met our customer’s specifications and upheld our reputation for quality, service, and quick turnaround time.
